Frankly, don't know whether to be happy about the fact that they're obviously intelligent enough to be reading books -- you don't see much of that these days -- or sad that (hey!) they're "reading on the job".

They're on the job, aren't they? So it stands to reason that they definitely shouldn't be doing that.
