XP?

While I realize this isn't quite the same as the wallpaper that comes with Windows XP, it sure comes pretty close.

Incidentally, the grass there is actually way taller than me. Great illusion, yes?

Fly!

Poor lonely airplane. And not a cloud in the sky!

Greener

Yes, I realize this is just a photo of grass. But really, you can't beat the color!

Winter Valley

Used a polarizing filter for this, which is what brought out all the colors, methinks. I took the photo from Mt. Fuji's third station.

Easily, this is my favorite landscape shot from that trip.

Odaiba

At a glance, it's almost like you have the Eiffel Tower, Golden Gate Bridge and Statue of Liberty all in one photo.

Instead, this is just a view of Tokyo from Daiba. What you see is Tokyo Tower, the Rainbow Bridge and a miniature Statue of Liberty.

Still a great shot, though.

Shinkansen

A Japanese shinkansen (bullet train). My only question: Autobot or Decepticon?

Fuji-san

Japan's Mt. Fuji is always a majestic site to behold.

Actually, this is a blown up shot taken with my 55-200 zoom lens.

Arachnid

If anyone knows what kind of spider this is, do tell.

How Not to Walk Your Dog

No, it's neither my car nor my dog.

Yes, this photo is taken completely out of context.

411 or 911?

Took this photo discreetly, and as soon as I managed to do so the cop on the right looked up, none too pleased.

Frankly, don't know whether to be happy about the fact that they're obviously intelligent enough to be reading books -- you don't see much of that these days -- or sad that (hey!) they're "reading on the job".
